Choose Flexshrink Hot Air Heat Tunnel for Your Product
As an entry-level, fundamental shrink tunnel, it features a compact structure, moderate efficiency, and a small footprint. It is highly suitable for product packaging in start-up or small-to-medium-sized packaging plants. Its convection or radiation heat (hot air) heating principle ensures comprehensive heating of the packaging film, enabling it to conform fully to the product. While hot air shrink tunnels are less efficient than steam and radiant heat (dry heat), they offer low cost and long-term economic benefits, making them widely used in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and electronics industries.
We added extra heating elements inside the hot air shrink tunnel so it warms up faster. The nozzles can be adjusted 360° to make sure every side of the film shrinks evenly. We also widened the tunnel entrance and exit, which makes it easier to handle larger products and speeds up the packaging process.
Flexshrink offers comprehensive customization services, allowing you to freely configure all parameters of the heat shrink tunnel according to your requirements, including dimensions, conveyor belt type, and temperature settings. Hot Air Heating Tunnel

Hot-air heating tunnels are a type of heat-shrink tunnel, thay are suitable for packaging food, pharmaceuticals, and various containers, this equipment is particularly well-suited for medium-sized products, making them popular with startups and small and medium-sized factories.
The Working Principle of Hot Air Shrink Tunnel

Heat shrink tunnels employ two heating methods: convection and radiation. Both uniformly heat the shrink film using hot air, but they differ slightly in efficiency and operating principles.
Convection Heating
Convection heating refers to the use of two or more hot air guns blowing in opposite directions to create convecting hot air. This ensures a constant temperature within the heating tunnel and guarantees that heat is applied uniformly and directly to the shrink film covering the product via the airflow.
Radiant Heating
Radiant heat transfers heat directly to the packaging film through far-infrared radiation, rather than relying on convection. Because the energy is applied directly to the packaging surface, heat transfer is much more efficient than convection heating. Radiant heat typically covers a temperature range of 150⁰F to 1000⁰F, adjustable to suit the packaging material and product requirements.
The Advantage of Hot Air Heat Tunnel

The hot air heat tunnels have compact designed and suitable for a wide range of productions in various industries, below are the detailed explation.
Compact Design
The hot air shrink tunnel has a simple structure and working principle, this making them only takes up little floor space. Also thier length of the accompanying conveyor belt can be customized as your needed, making the heat shrink tunnel easier to install in existing production lines.
Low-Temperature Shrinkage
The hot air heat shrink tunnel has lower temperatures than other shrink tunnels, such as the steam heat tunnel, which ensures your plastic products, especially empty plastic bottles, will not deform.
Applicable to Multiple Industries
Hot air heating tunnels have extensive applications, primarily serving industries such as food, beverages, electronics, and medical supplies. Some larger-sized hot air tunnels are also utilized in industrial settings.
Uniform and Perfect Packaging Performance
Our built-in heat gun evenly distributes heat to the shrink film, creating a smooth, wrinkle-free finish that perfectly conforms to the product’s shape.
How to Choose The Right Hot Air Heat Tunnel

When selecting a hot air shrink tunnel, suitability should be determined based on product weight and dimensions, production line scale, and working environment. For instance, hot air shrink tunnels are typically designed compactly (approximately 30“ L x 37” W x 75″ H), making them suitable for small to medium-sized products (such as bottled beverages, bagged fruits, small-sized parts, etc.), with a maximum load capacity of about 320 lbs.
For high-speed packaging lines, models with adjustable conveyor belt speeds are available. Due to their simple construction, heat shrink tunnels are best suited for dry environments; additional protective measures may be required in humid conditions.
Of course, the airflow volume of all hot air shrink tunnels can be adjusted at any time via the control panel knob, while temperature control is precise to ±1°C. This ensures uniform heating of the shrink film, protecting empty bottles or lightweight products from deformation.
Of course, Flexshrink allows you to customize every aspect of the hot air shrink tunnel, including 360° rotating nozzles and conveyor belt lengths.
